Millions of people trust web apps with their most sensitive information, from financial planning to medical care. Microservices and APIs bring huge benefits — and new, less obvious ways to break in. A single small flaw can be enough for a breach, and a single breach can bring serious financial, legal and reputational damage.
The best way to prevent this is to look at your application through an attacker’s eyes. SentryArk’s application penetration tests use the same techniques as sophisticated attackers and give you clear visibility of the risks in your web apps, mobile apps and APIs.
Testing beyond the OWASP Top 10
The OWASP Top 10 and its testing methodology are the accepted baseline for application security, and we cover them thoroughly. But automated scanning, or a test that stops at the Top 10, leaves you exposed to everything the list does not include. We build a test programme tailored to your application, not a generic checklist.
Business logic testing
As common flaws like SQL injection and cross-site scripting become rarer, attackers increasingly target business logic. These flaws are the hardest to find: they need an understanding of both the application and of how attackers think. Your team knows the business logic; we bring the attacker’s mindset. Together we cover every business scenario.
Secure code review
Testing from the outside is not always enough. Insecure coding practices are a major source of vulnerabilities, and modern applications depend on dozens of third-party libraries. We review your first-party code for security flaws and your dependencies for known vulnerabilities, so issues are fixed early in the lifecycle — when they are cheapest to fix.
APIs, tested role by role
APIs carry most of the traffic behind modern applications and expose business logic and data directly. We test every endpoint as multiple user roles and tenants and compare what each can see and do, which is how broken object-level and function-level authorisation and mass assignment are found. Testing starts from your OpenAPI or Swagger specification, Postman collections or captured traffic, and we look for the undocumented and legacy versions an attacker would find. REST, GraphQL, gRPC and SOAP services are all in scope.
Mobile, BaaS and AI features
Mobile apps are tested against OWASP MASVS: we decompile the build for secrets and weak cryptography, run it on instrumented devices, and attack the APIs behind it. Apps built on Supabase, Firebase and similar platforms get a dedicated review of row-level security, storage rules and exposed keys, because on a backend-as-a-service app the database is one request from the browser. Chatbots, copilots and agents are tested for prompt injection, data leakage and tool abuse against the OWASP LLM Top 10.
Scored, mapped and retested
Every finding carries a CVSS 4.0 score, CWE and OWASP mapping, proof of concept and fix guidance for your stack. We walk your engineers through the results, and retest each finding for free once you have patched.

Frequently asked questions
Why go beyond the OWASP Top 10?
The OWASP Top 10 is a great starting point, but it is not exhaustive. Many serious breaches come from business logic flaws that no scanner or checklist covers. We tailor every test to how your application actually works.
What is business logic testing?
Attackers do not always need a technical exploit. A design weakness — skipping a payment step, reusing a discount, reading another customer's records — can be enough. We work with your team to map every business scenario and test it for abuse.
Do you test APIs separately from the web app?
Yes. APIs are tested directly, with requests made as different user roles to find broken object-level and function-level authorisation, which front-end testing alone often misses.
Can you help us automate security in our pipeline?
Yes. Our DevSecOps service integrates tuned security tools into CI/CD so developers get fast, accurate results with minimal false positives.
